Two of Jack Nicklaus' finest courses in Jupiter, Florida will host the 95th Florida State Golf Association Amateur Championship June 21-24, 2012. The competition is open to all Amateur players from across the state of Florida through various qualifying sites.

Rio Pinar Country Club, Southern Dunes Golf Club and Waldorf Astoria Golf Club have been designated as Orlando area qualifying sites for 2012.  Entry fee for qualifying sites is $115.

Over the last few years, Orlando based Golf Channel has continually added new talent to enhance their reputation as the leader of golf media. The additions keep coming with the addition of longtime golf industry insider Geoff Russell.

Geoff Russell, a 26-year editorial veteran for Golf Digest Publications, has been named Senior Vice President and Executive Editor, Golf Channel. The announcement was made today by Golf Channel President Mike McCarley.  In this newly created role Russell will work collaboratively across all on-air and online production and programming groups to shape the editorial direction of Golf Channel.

Orlando, Florida based Little Linksters is making an impression in the golf industry with the implementation of The Little Linksters Association for Junior Golf Development.

"We are very excited about the future with what we are looking to accomplish" explains PGA Golf Professional Brendon Elliott, Founder of The Little Linksters Association for Junior Golf Development. "Our 501c3 has not even been in place for two months yet and we are making some tremendous strides forward already" Elliot says.

The nonprofit recently received a grant from the PGA Foundation and the Barbara & Jack Nicklaus Junior Golf Endowment fund. It also had a laser printer donated from Lexmark who is the official printing technology provider of the PGA of America. "It is very encouraging to have the support of these organizations and companies and we are so very grateful. We have some other grants we are looking to secure soon and we are hoping to gain even more support as we continue to gain momentum" Elliott adds. Other companies such as Almost Golf Balls, The Golfers Footprint, Golf Coach Direct & the Littlest Golfer, Inc. have pledged their support.

Interstate Hotels & Resorts has been selected as the hotel management company for the Mosaic Company's Streamsong Resort project and KemperSports as the golf management company for golf operations.

Mosaic, the world's leading producer and marketer of phosphate-based crop nutrients and a major landowner in Central Florida, is developing the resort, golf and conference center destination on approximately 16,000 acres of formerly mined phosphate land in rural Polk County between Tampa and Orlando, Florida.

"We are extremely pleased to place the operating management of Streamsong Resort into the very capable hands of Interstate Hotels & Resorts and KemperSports," said Tom Sunnarborg, Mosaic's vice president - land development and management. "They have an outstanding reputation and portfolio of managed resorts and renowned golf venues. Tee times at Orange County National Golf Club are now available on the Golf Orlando Florida online tee times portal.  Golfers will be able to browse, book and save on tee times up to 90 days in advance.

Orlando County National Golf Club has played host to the 2003, 2005, 2007 and 2010 PGA TOUR Qualifying School Finals and was awarded 4.5 stars by Golf Digest's "Places to Play."  The Panther Lake Course is a 7350-yard masterpiece incorporating rolling hills and dramatic elevation changes as it winds through natural oak hammocks, pine trees and freshwater lakes.

Similar to Panther Lake, Crooked Cat features significant elevation changes, rolling fairways and large, contoured greens. With fewer trees, wider landing areas and native heather and mounding framing the fairways, Crooked Cat presents golfers more of a links-style look. It provides a natural feel for an Orlando Florida golf course.
