The GOLFUNITED Fore Pulse charity golf scramble is scheduled to be played on Friday, August 26, 2016 at Grand Cypress Golf Club in Orlando, Florida. The organizing committee has confirmed the attendance and support of Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer in addition to PGA Tour Champion Stewart Appleby and LPGA Tour Champion Charlotta Sorenstam. The GOLFUNITED Fore PULSE charity scramble is being held to raise donations, increase awareness, honor the 49 victims, and support the ongoing needs of the 53 injured and the families impacted by the horrific mass shooting that occurred at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando June 12, 2016.
The inaugural tournament will begin at 8 a.m., August 26 and is being played on the New Course at Grand Cypress in Orlando. Mayor Buddy Dyer will provide the opening remarks and is playing in the event. Nine-time PGA Tour Champion Stewart Appleby, one of five PGA Tour players to record a round of 59, will be on the course providing quick tips for all the golfers and LPGA Tour Champion, Teaching Professional and Coach, Charlotta Sorenstam will be present to witness the $10,000 Hole-in-One Par 3 sponsored by Digital Golf Technologies.
Grand Cypress is the presenting host and hospitality sponsor with 100 percent of the net proceeds benefitting the Pulse of Orlando and OneOrlando Funds. GOLFUNITED, the organizing body for the event, is working in coordination with its team of generous service providers, sponsors, unpaid staff and volunteers to ensure that all donations raised will be distributed directly back to the surviving victims and families through its partnership with Pulse of Orlando and OneOrlando Fund, both 501(c)(3) non?profit organizations.
The GOLFUNITED Fore PULSE scramble will be followed by lunch, silent auction and entertainment. The Leonard Brothers Band, one of Central Florida's top event bands, will be performing (leonardbrothers.com). The tournament is sold out; however, sponsors and donations are still welcome.
