Holiday Inn Club Vacations at Orange Lake Resort will host the Bright House Networks Celebrity Golf Tournament on June 7, 2013. The Legends at Orange Lake championship course will host the event. The resort is pleased to play host to important fundraising events like this one, where local Orlando stars will tee off to improve the lives of families in Central Florida. Over the past 10 years, Orange Lake Resort has served as the host site to charitable golf tournaments that have raised more than $6 million towards important causes.
From professional bowling Hall of Famer Norm Duke to Central Florida News 13’s reporter and anchor Allison Walker, celebrities from the world of sports and entertainment will rally together at the Celebrity Golf Tournament at Orange Lake Resort for a foursome tournament with on-course games, a putting contest and other surprises to benefit Kiwanis Club of South Lake. Kiwanis, through guidance and example, works to develop future generations of leaders. The Kiwanians’ work goes towards revitalizing neighborhoods, organizing youth sports programs, tutoring, building playgrounds, and performing countless other projects to help children and communities.
Jody Seifert, senior director of golf operations for Orange Lake Resort says, ”The game of golf provides the perfect environment for conversation, camaraderie, decision and deal-making and networking. It’s an ideal ecosystem for fundraising because it’s entertaining and also easy on the eyes, especially at our resort where we keep the Legends course in pristine condition, year-round. We’re proud that our courses play a part in the fundraising strategy for local and sometimes global organizations.”
Following the Celebrity Golf Tournament, the resort will host the RCI Christel House Open on June 10, 2013 for the 11th consecutive year to support the foundation’s mission of helping children around the world break the cycle of poverty. Considered the largest multi-day charity golf tournament in the world, the Christel House Open is spread out across 14 tournament sites, with 11 played in the United States and three international – in Mexico, the United Kingdom and South Africa.
