Opened in October 2009, the Waldorf Astoria Golf Club is Rees Jones latest addition to Florida golf. Designed with a five-tee system for all playing abilities, yet quite challenging, the Waldorf Astoria Golf Club 18-hole Rees Jones-designed championship course winds through a large wetland preserve and measures 7113 yards with a Par 72, Slope 130, and 73.0 Rating from its Professional Tees. Despite being relatively new to the Orlando Golf scene, the Waldorf Astoria Golf Club was ranked as one of the best golf courses in Orlando in 2011.
Holes are visually arresting from tee to green and require intelligent management of the game. Bunkers are carved to be reminiscent of the hazards designed on courses a century ago. Majestic stands of pine and cypress trees line the fairways. The style was dictated by the land's existing contours, which Jones then enhanced, always mindful of the natural elements and environmental issues.
A classic design with square tee boxes and meticulously maintained course conditions, Waldorf Astoria Golf Club is a welcome addition to Orlando golf. Exceptional guest service reserved for only the finest country clubs treat golfers as if they were a "member for the day"
The Waldorf Astoria Golf Club is part of the 482-acre Bonnet Creek resort development that is scheduled to open October 1, 2009. The golf club will serve as an amenity for the 497-room Waldorf Astoria Orlando and the 1,000-room Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek. The golf course is a stones throw away from Walt Disney World Resort and is considered a true gem for Disney area golf courses.
