Orange County National Launches "Player of the Day" Promotion

Orange County National
debuted its T-Pod (The Player of the Day) Promotion recently and I think they have hit a “hole-in-one”.   On a recent visit to the golf course, I was able to witness firsthand the excitement generated in the golf shop and expect ‘The Player of the Day’ promotion to create a little special buzz at OCN and in the marketplace. 

What is the T-Pod promotion and what makes it so special? Well, the promotion surprises and excites the winning golfer in the golf shop upon arrival generating an experience that will be remembered by not only the winning golfer, but also his entire foursome.

Each day a random player is selected as OCN’s T-Pod, and is unexpectedly treated to a little extra personal touch that OCN has set aside for T-Pod.  Each T-Pod receives complimentary green and cart fees, use of a custom high speed golf cart equipped with a stereo and GPS yardage system, complimentary lunch and some draft beers.  The T-Pod will be seated in a plush leather chair at a special reserved table in front of big screen T.V. with full use of the remote control.

Orange County National Player of the Day WinnerPhotos of the T-Pod will be displayed in the golf shop and restaurant.  To create some excitement and a “WOW factor”, OCN’s Staff greets T-Pod upon check in with sirens, whistles, and flashing lights as well as a round of applause.  Throughout the day T-Pod, is recognized by OCN staff members.

“We are thrilled to offer an extra special personal touch to our T-Pod,” said Bruce Gerlander, general manager, Orange County National. “We boast about the service we offer all our guests, and want to go above and beyond for everyone. By doing this T-Pod promotion it helps us hone the skills necessary to provide an upper level of service.”

“Having an unannounced promotion like this, gives our guests another reason to leave our golf facility and boast about the unique experience they had,” says Jimmy Bell Director of Sales and Marketing.  “The reactions we see and the word of mouth marketing it creates is priceless!”

This is more proof that Orange County National continues to be an industry leader in the Orlando golf marketplace and the national golf scene.  With a struggling economy affecting revenues and profitability at golf courses nationwide, it’s encouraging to see OCN leveraging the power of word of mouth marketing and thinking “outside the box” to show appreciation for their valued customers.
