Victoria Hills Golf Club - an award-winning, Ron Garl designed course owned by The St. Joe Company and managed by Billy Casper Golf - announces its full participation in the PGA of America's summer Play Golf America programs including Family Golf Month, Bring Your Kids to the Range Day, Bring Your Daughter to the Course Day and Patriot Golf Day.
Play Golf America programs give everyone, regardless of age or skill level, the opportunity to learn or re-learn the game of golf through affordable programs. Celebrating five successful years, more than 1.28 million consumers have experienced golf through branded National Promotions, Play Golf America Days and special events since the program was launched in 2004.
Victoria Hills Golf Club will offer the following programs:
Family Golf Month - Each Monday during July the club will set up a four-hole "short course" for kids, offering several "tee boxes" at varying lengths to accommodate different ages and skill levels. The cost is $5 dollars per child.
Bring Your Daughter to the Course Week - During the week of July 6-13, junior girls play free if accompanied by a paying adult.
Bring Your Kid to The Range Day - On July 22, the practice range at Victoria Hills will host a special clinic for children focusing on fundamentals, followed by a miniature putting contest and dinner. The event runs from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm and the cost to participate is $10 per child.
Patriot Golf Day - Occurring September 4-7, golfers playing Victoria Hills will be asked to make a small donation to the Folds of Honor Foundation, a legacy foundation designed to provide scholarships for dependents and spouses of service members that have been killed or disabled as a result of their military service. The course is also hosting a special par-3 contest, where those interested in donating $10 to participate in the closest-to-the-pin challenge are eligible to win free rounds, golf shirts, hats and other prizes.
"Play Golf America is a locally-driven grass-roots vehicle for growing the game," says Matt Payne, General Manager and Head Golf Professional. "Many of the events this summer provide an opportunity for juniors in the area to be exposed to golf at free or reduced rates, something very important for families in this economy."
Play Golf America, designed to increase participation among new and existing golfers, was developed by The PGA of America, with the support of Allied Associations including: the LPGA, National Golf Course Owners Association, PGA Tour, USGA and others involved in the annual Golf 20/20 Conference. The program utilizes the PlayGolfAmerica.com Web site to serve as a link for consumers to access fun, affordable and informative programs in their area.
