Despite earlier reports, Ridgewood Lakes Golf Club in Davenport, Florida is not closing. Ridgewood Lakes was scheduled to close its doors on Saturday, October 1, 2011, but remained open.
A last minute compromise between the owner (JL Land Development) and members at Ridgewood Lakes Golf and Country Club in Davenport was reached, allowing the course to remain open for business.
"The golf course is open, and we're planning on keeping it open," said Charles McLoone, General Manager at Ridgewood Lakes.
Ridgewood Lakes has about 100 members with approximately 1,000 homes in the development. Despite a challenging economy, there is optimism that things are turning in the right direction at Ridgewood Lakes.
