Summer will be even more scorching now that LoudMouth Golf's first loud summer tour is underway at the Orange Tree Golf Club in Orlando. The tour features a strong line up of Nationwide Tour, Champions Tour and PGA Tour professionals ready to tee off at the Loudmouth Golf Disco Balls Open on July 20th. As usual, frenetic fashion is also served up on the links.
LoudMouth Golf Tour founder and Commissioner Dave Damesworth, the head golf pro at Orange Tree Golf Club, said the challenging course at Orange Tree keeps bringing back great players over and over to the LoudMouth Tours.
"It's not an easy course and we have several PGA and Champion's Tour winners that have played the golf course and haven't broken par," Damesworth said. "The lowest score ever shot in any LoudMouth event is 67, and we've had over 300 rounds of tournament golf."
The Summer Tour's initial event, the Shagadelic Open, drew 18 players to the challenging course on June 29th. Nationwide Tour winner Bryan DeCorso took the lead in the opener, shooting a 4-under 68. Jhared Hack, the top money winner in the LoudMouth winter tour, and Paul Curry, a former European Tour winner, tied for second with a 2 under par with scores of 70.
Other top players who participated in the opening event include:
Robert Gamez, PGA and Nationwide Tour
Christo Greyling, Nationwide Tour
Rob Johnson, Canadian Tour winner and Base Line Tour
Matt Borchert, PGA Tour
LoudMouth Golf fashion was front and center at the Shagadelic Open, with Damesworth appropriately sporting the black shagadelic shorts and LoudMouth Golf CEO Larry Jackson wearing one of his favorites, Aloha Girls.
Other events slated for the tour are the Orange Crush Open on August 17th, the SureBet Open on September 8, and the Oakmont Championship on October 12th.
