Golfweek has announced the inaugural Golfweek Stableford National Championship, which will be played Jan. 28-31, 2012 across three Orlando-area courses – The Legends at Orange Lake Resort, ChampionsGate Golf Club (International Course), and Celebration Golf Club.
The newest addition to Golfweek’s extensive events lineup, the Golfweek Stableford National Championship gives golfers the opportunity to play three competitive rounds for a $15,000 purse (based on a full field). Golfers will also have the chance to compete in a skills challenge and enjoy social events. In addition, players will gain access to the PGA Merchandise Show through a guided tour. “We are thrilled to be working with the PGA Merchandise Show to offer golfers a truly unique golf experience,” said Armand Cimaroli, Golfweek’s director of events. “By coupling the stableford format – which encourages fast play and handicap integrity – with exclusive access to the world’s largest golf industry event, the Golfweek Stableford National Championship has the ability to grow into one of the most popular events on the Golfweek calendar.”
Open to golfers of all ages and abilities, registration for the 2012 Golfweek Stableford National Championship is $495. Visit www.GolfweekEvents.com for complete tournament details and registration.
