Hundreds of women golfers from throughout the United States and Canada will gather in Amelia Island, Florida on April 13-16 for the 2011 EWGA Golfpalooza (formerly known as the EWGA Conference). This four-day event promises an action packed array of leadership development and business networking opportunities plus a wide selection of fun golf tournaments for players of all skill levels. Held at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort, the event also celebrates the 20th anniversary of the EWGA (Executive Women's Golf Association).
The opening day includes a keynote presentation by Disney Institute, "Disney's Approach to Leadership Excellence", leadership development sessions, optional golf and a welcoming cocktail reception, buffet and marketplace. Golf broadcaster and World Golf Hall of Fame LPGA player Judy Rankin will be honored with the 2010 EWGA Leadership Award.
The Thursday keynote, "Think Like an Athlete" is presented by Mariah Burton Nelson, executive director, American Association for Physical Activity & Recreation," followed by learning labs, an industry panel and golf instruction opportunities. The evening festivities are the EWGA Foundation's "Fun-Raising Tailgate Party" with minute-to-win-it games, fashion show and silent auction.
Stina Sternberg, senior editor of Golf Digest presents the Friday morning keynote "A Funny Thing Happened at the Golf Course..." followed by the Try, Test & Buy Fest of golf equipment and product demos and a choice of golf events. The 20th Anniversary Red Carpet Gala Awards Dinner ends the day honoring EWGA volunteer leaders.
Saturday offers more optional golf played on the Ocean Links, Oak Marsh and Amelia River courses and a final celebration " EWGA Party Like its 1991" dinner, dancing and bonfire on the beach.
