The 5th Annual Golfing Fore Autism charity golf tournament is scheduled for Saturday, June 27, 2009 at Orange County National Golf Center.  Various hole sponsorship opportunities for the tournament are available starting at $100.

Sponsor signage featuring the logo of each sponsor will be placed at a hole.  In addition, sponsor logo and recognition will be included in the tournament book that will be distributed to participating golfers and local businesses.

The 21st annual Westside Tech Foundation golf tournament fundraiser will be held on Friday, June 5, 2009 at Stoneybrook West Golf Club.  The tournament is scheduled for a 8:30 am shotgun start.  Registration is $75/player and includes golf, lunch and prize competitions.  Registration deadline is Friday, May 29, 2009.

The golf tournament fundraiser is held annually for raise money for the Westside Tech Foundation's Student Scholarship Fund.  To date, the school has raised enough funds to help support more than 750 deserving students with educational scholarships.

Orange County National has once again been recognized by the ZAGAT SURVEY as one of America’s Top Golf Courses.  ZAGAT recently released the 6th edition of “The Ultimate Golfer’s Guide” that includes ratings and reviews for more than 1,100 of the country’s foremost public, semi-private and resort courses. 

The ratings score each facility in four categories on a 30 point scale; the categories scored include COURSE, FACILITY, SERVICE and VALUE.  Orange County National has been in the upper echelon in each of the past six editions and once again has been identified as having the two top rated public golf courses in Central Florida.  Both courses at Orange County National, Panther Lake and Crooked Cat, had scores of 26 in the COURSE rating.  This puts them in the “Extraordinary to Perfection” level   In addition to holding the top two slots in Central Florida, their scores allow Panther Lake and Crooked Cat to tie for 2nd among all public Florida golf courses.

Holiday Inn Club Vacations at Orange Lake Resort is celebrating its seventh year as the Central Florida host of the Group RCI Christel House Open on Monday, June 8, 2009. This is the first year that the tournament will be hosted under Orange Lake Resort’s new timeshare brand, Holiday Inn Club Vacations, and will take place at the resort’s 18-hole, Arnold Palmer-designed Legends golf course. Considered the largest single-day, charity golf tournament in the world, the Group RCI Christel House Open is spread out across 19 tournament sites spanning five continents. Approximately 2,000 golfers will tee off on this day for the charity—and 100% of the worldwide proceeds will go to programs and services that directly benefit the more than 3,000 children of Christel House.
