Opened in December 2003, Shingle Creek Golf Club is an Orlando Golf Course where the past meets the present. Located just one mile from the Orange County Convention Center, Shingle Creek Golf Club and Resort merges the modern resort experience with the natural feel of the historic "Shingle Creek". Shingle Creek winds throughout the golf course and resort and flows 140 miles south into the headwaters of the Florida everglades.
Early settlers used the creek to transport Cypress trees to the mill and create shingles for the roof tops of their homes ? alas, the name Shingle Creek was only fitting.
Designed by architect David Harman, Shingle Creek Golf Club features undulating fairways, interconnecting waterways, tournament playing conditions daily, and large, rolling greens. A feeling of nature abounds as dense oaks and pines provide a backdrop along historic Shingle Creek; all in the heart of Orlando minutes from the Orange County Convention Center.
The 7,228 yard course has received numerous awards and accolades since opening in 2003, including being ranked as one of the top new courses in the United States by Golfweek magazine. Players will be challenged with plenty of water and sand hazards. Despite all of the water hazards, this Orlando golf course is playable for both the scratch player and novice.
The golf shop features the latest equipment and apparel and has been rated by Golf World as one of the 100 best golf shops in America. The practice facility offers expansive teeing grounds and state of the art golf instruction at the Brad Brewer Golf Academy.
