Highlighted by fast, firm and wide rolling fairways, a variety of strategically placed bunkers and large greens, the 7,257 yard, par 72 Independence Course is as much about strategy as it is about length.

Demanding a well thought out approach from every player regardless of skill level, The Independence puts a premium on a solid short game with spacious green complexes where club selection can vary from putter to lob wedge to three-wood.

* Golf Digest selected The Independence Course as #10 on their list of "America's Best New Resort Courses" for 2005
* Golf Magazine selected The Independence Course in the top 10 "Best new courses you can play"
* GolfWeek selected The Independence as #4 on their list of "Florida's Best Public Access Courses 2006," #12 on their list of "America's Top 40 New Courses 2005," #38 on their list of "America's Best Residential Golf Courses" and #29 on their list of "America's Best Resort Courses"

The Independence course was the first of the Ginn Reunion Resort courses to open and also Tom Watson's first Signature design in Florida. The Independence offers a native appearance framed by numerous varieties of native grasses, azaleas, camellias, and other native foliage. While The Independence is certainly beautiful, it's equally challenging. Watson's thoughtful use of bunkers will make you think your way around.

Reunion Golf Resort features 54 holes of championship golf.  The resort features the Reunion Resort Nicklaus Golf Course, Reunion Resort Palmer Golf Course and Reunion Resort Watson Golf Course.

About Reunion Resort: In addition to the three championship golf courses, Reunion Resort features spacious accommodations, personalized concierge services, world-class dining, the Annika Golf Academy, a luxurious spa, tennis courts, 5 pools and a water park. At Ginn Reunion® Resort, taking care of our planet is every bit as important to as taking care of our members and guests. In fact, Reunion has been recognized by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection's Green Lodging Program.
